My Journey to this

My journey began in healthcare, where I trained as a licensed nurse and midwife. My interest in human health and well-being grew quickly, leading to further studies – eventually, I earned a PhD in health sciences with a focus on Caring Science.

Over the years, I felt an increasingly strong need to work more preventively and promotively, focusing on the whole person – not just on illness and symptoms, but also on daily life, lifestyle, and inner balance.

I therefore pursued further education in several areas that complement each other. It started with group training – the joy of movement and community in Les Mills BODYPUMP™ and Zumba® became my professional entry into the world of fitness. I am also a certified spinning instructor and FISAF Personal Trainer. Over time, my interest in movement as a tool for both physical and mental strength grew, leading me to yoga. Today, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Yin Yoga Teacher, and Certified Yoga Shred® Teacher.

At the same time as I deepened my practice of movement, I was drawn to methods for recovery and inner healing. I am a Reiki Master, a certified NAT Trigger Point Therapist, and have taken courses in Gua Sha massage, Indian Head Massage, Sports Massage, and Kinesiology Taping. These techniques have given me more tools to work with the body’s own resources – both to relieve pain and to create deeper relaxation and presence.

All these steps have shaped my holistic view of health – and it is precisely the combination of knowledge, experience, attentiveness, and intuition that forms the basis of what I offer today.

Competence is more than education

My formal education provides a foundation, but what truly makes a difference in my work is the combination of knowledge, presence, and attentiveness.

Over the years, I have developed confidence in meeting people in various life situations – sometimes in vulnerability, sometimes in change, and sometimes moving full speed ahead. Wherever you are, I strive to create a space where you are seen as a whole person.

Some qualities I often receive feedback on are:

  • Attentiveness and empathy – the ability to listen both with your ears and between the lines

  • Holistic perspective – seeing body, mind, and life context as a whole

  • Clarity and structure – especially in coaching or guiding roles

  • Flexibility – being able to adapt efforts according to daily condition, needs, and life situation

  • Ability to combine research with common sense – in everything from nutrition advice to life strategies

My drive is not just to help – but to support people in finding their own strength, clarity, and direction.

What I bring to our meeting
What I offer is not just about education and training programs. It’s also about the meeting between people – about presence, attentiveness, and trust. It’s about being able to read body language, hear what is not said, feel when it’s time to push – and when it’s time to step back a little.

It’s about providing structure without being rigid, adapting without losing clarity, and maintaining a direction even when everyday life gets complicated.

Here are some things often highlighted by those I have worked with:

“She sees the whole person.”

“I have worked with Yvonne as a PT for an extended period and find her very attentive to my specific needs. She sees the whole person […] I can warmly recommend Yvonne’s services to anyone looking for inspiration and renewed motivation in their training or who wants to try Trigger Point Therapy for their specific challenges.”

“The training is tailored – and you can feel it!”

“The exercises are adapted to each person’s ailments.”
“Cane exercises – a stubborn arm makes some movements difficult.”
“Yin yoga – calm, enjoyable movements.”
“Breathing exercises – pleasantly relaxing.”

“It’s fun, it works – and it delivers results.”

“Core training – necessary and essential exercises. Found the deep abdominal muscles!”
“Strength training with kettlebells. Effective and fun.”
“I started enjoying doing intervals on the treadmill.”
“My goal was to reasonably improve my fitness […] a year later, I can do it 20 minutes faster at the same heart rate. I’m very happy!”

“The long-term approach makes a difference.”

“I have had Yvonne as my PT for just over a year […] I have lost twice as much as my target without ever being hungry.”
“Long-term and realistic goals. […] The long-term collaboration allows your PT to know you and see trends and patterns.”
“I highly recommend a longer collaboration with Yvonne. But remember: she creates the programs, but she cannot do the work for you.”

“Yvonne is more than a PT.”

“Yvonne has life experience, she is knowledgeable in many areas, and she is engaged.”
“She is inspiring.”
“She has the ability to see the whole person and is attentive to the customer’s needs.”
